Frequently Asked Questions

What impact will it have on our power bill by switching to energy efficient windows?

Starting in 1992, with help from ENERGY STAR®, American families and businesses saved $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2013. Each Pella® product meets or exceeds ENERGY STAR certification in all 50 states and most of Canada. How does this impact you? Not only might you find a decrease to your heating and cooling bill, you will help protect the environment.

How much will my replacement door or replacement windows project cost?

Our windows and doors are each specifically designed and custom-built for your home, meaning no two projects are the same. Our broad spectrum of products make it difficult to discuss pricing without first considering your wants and needs and the project results you envision. Due to this nature, we find it useful to send out a Pella sales representative who will provide you with a quoted project price once they have seen the project site itself. To expedite the process, your Pella® sales representative is armed with a computer and a portable printer so that they can give you all the quote information you’ll need—once the sales representative has a chance to consider the requirements of the job and aligns them with your vision.

In addition to offering a large assortment of high-grade products to pick from, we also have a generous offering of payment and finance options. Pella is uniquely-suited to offer you excellent window and door products at affordable prices, providing you with a chance to make the renovations you want to while building great value into your Scottsdale area home all the while.

Can I paint my vinyl windows?

The beauty of Pella's® vinyl windows is that you don’t need to. You can choose the color your want. We do not advise painting your vinyl products, as this will terminate your warranty. Some paint manufacturers say that their paint can adhere to vinyl, but it could destroy your windows if the wrong paint is applied or done incorrectly.

What should I use to clean my glass windows?

We suggest that you clean them with a prepackaged vinegar-based cleaning mixture or use an ammonia-free glass cleaner such as Windex or Sparkle. You can also mix your own with one part vinegar to ten parts water. Put the solution on a soft, clean microfiber cloth or paper towel. We do not suggest using glass cleaners that are ammonia- or alcohol-based as they have a tendency to produce streaks or create a film that draws moisture and dust.

Do Pella® employees actually install your replacement windows and doors?

Pella uses dependable installers who are certified to install Pella products. They are required to complete a thorough set of training courses so that your windows and doors are properly installed and meet Pella’s strict warranty guidelines. We find the best Scottsdale-local people and recruit them to install our projects. Before they can be hired, Pella requires them to pass a drug test and background check. Our installers are fully covered by liability and workers compensation insurance. In addition to Pella product warranties, your installation is also covered for 10 years under the installation limited warranty and service agreement.

What's different about buying replacement windows and doors from local Pella® showrooms versus buying from retailers like Lowe’s?

Your Scottsdale Pella branch offers services and support that “big box” stores can’t perform. Our experts are highly-trained in selling, installing, and servicing Pella Windows & Doors. Working with a dedicated Pella sales team, project manager, local service technicians, and expert installers means that your project will have the knowledge of our whole team. We commonly use the term “single source accountability”, meaning that there’s no one to chase down regarding a product, installation, or warranty issue. Simply contact our office, your sales representative, or our project manager with any questions or concerns you may have and we will get to work resolving the issue.

Why is Pella® the right choice for my home?

There are numerous reasons why Scottsdale homeowners select Pella for their replacement window and door needs. Pella is a privately owned, professionally managed company founded in 1925. Every one of our high quality windows and doors are produced with attention to detail and serviced by Pella’s unique Direct Sales Network. Unlike many of our competitors who sell exclusively through retailers, Pella has dedicated replacement window and doors design centers across the United States and Canada. This unique way of conducting business gives our customers in Scottsdale a highly personal experience with the help of a local to Scottsdale, Pella-certified team. Whether you are looking for the beauty of wood, the strength of fiberglass, or the low maintenance of vinyl—Pella has a top quality, energy efficient and durable solution.
